Abstract
Parental support could be a protective factor against psychopathology severity regardless of childhood trauma exposure. Child-perceived, rather than parent-perceived, parental support may be a more reliable factor in determining parental buffering of psychopathology development. Parental support may not buffer against the alterations to brain structure and function following trauma exposure.
