The Importance of Measurement Invariance When Examining Psychological Differences between Liberals and Conservatives

Abstract
Using data from a large internet sample (n = 1624), we test whether (or not) a set of scales previously used to indicate differences between political liberals and conservatives meet standards of metric and scalar invariance necessary to make such claims; results suggest that several do not.
