Narcissism and the Desire for Intelligence As an Agentic Attribute

Four studies (n=1158) explored the relations between grandiose narcissism, objective intelligence, subjective intelligence, satisfaction with intelligence and beliefs how intelligence influences various life domains. We found that inflated self-views in the domain of intelligence enable grandiose narcissists to maintain positive feelings. Narcissists believe that intelligence is crucial in interpersonal relations.
