Abstract
The relationship between self-esteem, temperament, sociability, and nonverbal behaviors such as eye contact, gestures, and facial expressions was examined when individuals complete tasks that varied in difficulty. Results suggest a relationship between self-perceived temperament and gestures as participants with higher scores of positive affect produced more gestures during an interview.
