Abstract
In the present research, we sought to examine the multifaceted ways in which romantic competence (RC) may contribute to relationship satisfaction. Using a dyadic design (N = 171 couples), we found evidence for assortative mating processes. In addition, RC predicted both perceptual and behavioral components of relationship satisfaction.
