Children's Visual to Haptic Cross Modal Transfer of 2-Dimensional and 3-Dimensional Stimuli

Haptic object recognition abilities were explored in children ages two to eight. The study also investigated whether mental concepts of objects parallel between 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional, using shapes. A central question was at age can a child identify a shape by touch.
