Abstract

Enhancing metacognition has positive effects on engineering education, however it is unclear how metacognition relates to a specific discipline. This experiment tests whether an engineering activity in virtual reality increases measured metacognition or problem-solving in undergraduate engineering students. Results show that metacognition was not enhanced but problem-solving was enhanced.
