Abstract
Three behavioral and one ERP experiment examined whether bilingual experience can change concept associations. Results show that bilinguals perceive semantically unrelated concepts as more related to each other than monolinguals do. We propose that having denser and more interconnected phonological, orthographic and lexical systems may decrease semantic distance between concepts.
