Abstract

This study examines the role of parental influence on the persistence of gender nonconformity from childhood to adulthood. Recalled childhood gender nonconformity (CGN) was positively related to adult gender nonconformity (AGN), but among males, reported parental attempts to change CGN moderated the relationship between CGN and AGN.
