Abstract

Utilizing secondary analysis of data from 1067 participants in the NICHD SECCYD study, we examined the impact of progressive parenting beliefs on parents’ ratings of children’s prosocial behaviors towards peers and family. Hierarchical regression models revealed an association between progressive parenting beliefs and higher occurrences of prosocial actions towards peers.
