Absence of Post-Learning Motor Execution Effects on Memory for Action Words

Four independent experiments failed to replicate a previous demonstration that post-learning execution of movements related to studied action words enhanced retention of those words. A metanalytic approach that globally considered the data from the four experiments also failed to find evidence consistent with post-learning motor effects on memory.
