Abstract
Children’s cortisol stress reactivity may index risk for psychopathology. Parents’ lifetime history of psychopathology was regressed on indices of child cortisol; maternal anxiety and paternal mood disorder and substance dependence were linked to different cortisol parameters. Implications for prevention are discussed.
