Abstract
Emotion regulation (ER) theories posit that different ER strategies show differential affective responses after stress. However, the effects of intrapersonal compared to interpersonal ER strategies are not well understood. This study found that affective recovery depended on both the interpersonal nature of the ER strategy and the specific strategy employed.
