Abstract
This study found that parenting behaviors during adolescence predict leadership self-efficacy and mental models of ideal leader traits. Specifically, positive parenting behaviors of quality time and incentives predicted leader efficacy. Additionally, monitoring predicted implicitly leadership traits of dedication, charisma, and intelligence. Quality time predicted sensitivity, while less overparenting predicted charisma.
