Gender and Overconfidence in the Classroom: The Mediating Role of Narcissism

In an examination of overconfidence in the context of undergraduate students (N = 172) predicting their exam scores, gender and narcissism were found to be predictors of overconfidence, with men being more overconfident than women. Additional analyses also revealed that narcissism partially mediates the relationship between gender and overconfidence.
