Abstract
This sibling comparison analysis examined how corporal punishment (CP) relates to children’s later development of externalizing behaviors. Results suggest that siblings who received CP more frequently were significantly more likely to exhibit externalizing behaviors in later childhood. Thus, outcomes of CP cannot be explained entirely by genetic or environmental confounds.
