Abstract
In order to identify risk factors of attrition among underrepresented students, we examined the relationship between lifetime exposure to stressful events and psychological well-being among a sample of first-generation college students. Linear regressions revealed that higher rates of exposure to violence predicted greater rates of worry and depressive symptoms.
