Abstract
Results indicate that the relationship between alexithymia and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) symptoms becomes insignificant after the introduction of difficulties in regulating emotions as the mediator variable, demonstrating a unique and significant contribution towards GAD symptoms (β=.36, p<.001). Thus, providing empirical support for the Emotion Dysregulation Model (EDM).
