The Importance of Considering Intersectionality and Identity Management in Leadership Interviews

Abstract
We examined the relationship between identity management and intersectional identity in leadership interviews to determine if evaluations vary based on the race and gender intersection of the applicant. Findings highlight that applicants’ intersectional identity affects outcomes in leadership interviews and that interviewer characteristics also affect these interview outcomes.
