Abstract
Although excessive worry is prevalent in affective disorders, the cognitive mechanisms are underspecified. Executive function domains were tested as potential mediators of affective disorder diagnoses and level of worry. Results demonstrated full mediation and that poor emotional control and shifting may explain the increased incidence of worry in affective disorders.
