Episodic Memory Improves Episodic Future Thinking Effects on Delay Discounting

Abstract
To test the hypothesis that memory fuels prospection, we had people recall salient memories or play a memory game before an episodic future thinking (EFT) or control task, and studied EFT effects on delay discounting. We found that episodic recall prior to EFT resulted in the least delay discounting.
