Retrieval-Induced Forgetting for Details Associated with Posted and Unposted Information on Facebook

Previous research has shown that rehearsal of a memory leads to better recall of the memory, however, it induces forgetting of details related to the memory. The current study extends this paradigm through Facebook to find that RIF is prominent in both autobiographical and environmental details of a memory.
