Abstract
Natural disaster has substantial effects on affiliative behavior. In this study, we used a prospective design and two control groups to examine whether it can reduce attachment avoidance. We found evidence of a distinctive decline in attachment avoidance among the cohort of students exposed to Hurricane Sandy during the semester.
