Why Are We Getting It on? Differentiating Sexual Motives Based on Goal Focus

In three studies, we investigate how the effects of approach and avoidance sexual motives on sexual and relationship satisfaction vary as a function of intimacy or eroticism goal focus. We expand current measures of approach and avoidance motivation to account for goal type and a wider array of sexual experiences.
