Abstract
The current research examined others’ perceptions of extraordinary altruists to see if they aligned with the altruists’ own judgments and behavior. Our results showed convergence in judgments with regard to personality traits but divergence with regard to social discounting suggesting that there may be misconceptions about what drives altruists’ behavior.
