The Dual Upward Spirals of Gratitude, Sympathy, and Satisfaction with Life in Japan

Abstract
Using a cross-lagged design, we tested whether gratitude would predict both sympathy and satisfaction with life over time, and both sympathy and satisfaction with life would predict gratitude over time in Japan. We found that there exist dual upward spirals of gratitude-sympathy and sympathy-gratitude on satisfaction with life in Japan.
