Attachment Style and Help-Seeking Among Young Adults

The present study examined help-seeking intentions and attitudes, attachment style, and distress disclosure, as predictors of informal help-seeking behaviour. Regression analyses indicated that fearful attachment style predicted more help-seeking behaviour, and dismissing attachment style predicted less help-seeking behaviour despite both styles being characterized by the avoidance of close relationships.
