Intergenerational Transmission of Depression: The Chained Mediating Effect of Parental Rejection and Self-Concept

To investigate the chained mediating effect of parental rejection and self-concept in the intergenerational transmission of depression, 208 adolescents and their parents were involved. Results showed a chained mediating effect in the intergenerational transmission of depression between mothers’ rejection and adolescents’ self-concept, while no chain reaction among fathers and children.
