The Paradox of Indulgent Scents

Abstract
Contrary to popular lay belief that exposure to indulgent scent will encourage indulgent food consumption, this research finds that extended exposure to indulgent scents in fact can discourage the consumption of indulgent foods. More importantly, we propose a unique process explanation for this occurrence based on counteractive-control theory.
