Post-Hurricane Maria Impact on the Well-Being of Teenage Girls in Puerto Rico: Phase II

179 girls at a single-sex academy in PR completed surveys measuring anxiety immediately/two years after Hurricane Maria. Four common traumatic experiences predicted elevated 2017 anxiety/marginally higher 2019 anxiety. Fifteen completed a Skyped-focus group identifying coping methods. Trauma effects linger. Minimal STAI change from 2017-2019 was correlated with negative coping strategies.
