Abstract
We examined the relationship between helicopter parenting (HP), psychological needs, and prosocial behaviors among emerging adults. Psychological need satisfaction mediated the relationship between HP and prosocial behaviors. As emerging adults reported more HP by their mothers or fathers, they reported less satisfaction of their psychological needs and fewer prosocial behaviors.
