Abstract
The current FMRI study investigates the neural differences underlying people’s ability to imitate foreign accents. Participants were scanned while they listened to accented sentences and imitated accented sentences. We found that participants with good imitation ability engaged speech motor areas to a greater extent than participants with poor imitation ability.
