Warnings Associated with a Distinctive Reminder Can Protect People from Misinformation

Recent research suggests that warnings about misinformation might be more effective when paired with distinctive reminders. We tested this idea across 3 experiments. The results show that warnings associated with distinctive reminders are helpful, but not more than general warnings.
