Abstract
Emotional characteristics of everyday life are known to shape what we remember. We explored the effects of emotion (positive, negative, neutral) and retention interval (recent; 1-2 m old, remote; 1-6 y old) on characteristics of autobiographical memory (AM). Emotional AMs were more detailed than neutral AMs regardless of retention interval.
