Heart Rate Increase Predicts Contextual Modulation of Infant Gaze Following

Abstract
We examined how contextual factors, ostensive signal, and the reliability of an informant affect infant physiological state and modulate gaze following. The results showed that contextual modulation such as eye contact or reliability independently elevated infant heart rate, which then facilitated gaze following.
