We Need to Talk about Informed Consent Practice

Abstract
This empirical study serves as a call to action, to revise informed consent practice. We explored typical consent forms and how “informed” online participants are after reading these forms. Findings indicate these forms are difficult for participants to read, potentially encouraging participants to consent without even trying to understand.
