An Examination of the Impact of Maladaptive Coping on the Association between Stressor Type and Alcohol Use in College

Academic-related stressors cause more distress for college students who may turn to drinking in an attempt to cope from perceived stress. The current study examined the relationship between stressor type and alcohol use behavior, and the mediating role of maladaptive coping on the association between stress and alcohol use.
