Tied to My Leader, Tied to My Organization: Moderating Effects of Collectivism & Power Distance

Abstract
This study examines leader-member exchange (LMX) as an antecedent of organizational identification and the moderating effects of an individual’s cultural values. Results showed that LMX was positively related to organizational identification. The relationship was stronger for individuals high in power distance, but was not significant for individuals high in collectivism.
