Cross-Cultural Influences on the Understanding and Use of Sarcasm

We present an exploration of the relationship between dimensions of culture, personality, and perception of sarcasm use. Respondents from Mexico, China, and the United States rated items about their sarcasm usage regarding who, why, and when they use it. Cultural differences were evident in sarcasm usage.
