Abstract
We hypothesized that older and middle-aged adults would have greater marital satisfaction when their spouse engaged in social groups because there would be greater opportunity for self-expansion. Results of actor partner interdependence models showed a significant association between one spouse’s social participation and their partner’s greater marital satisfaction.
