Abstract
The present study seeks to examine the relationship between self-reported parental self-regulation, specifically impulsivity, and preschooler’s emotion regulation as mediated by pre-mentalization within parental reflective functioning. Results revealed a very significant positive relationship between impulsivity and pre-mentalization, as well as a significant negative relationship between pre-mentalization and childrens’ emotion regulation.
