Attending Live Theatre Improves Empathy, Changes Attitudes, and Leads to Pro-Social Behavior

Across three field experiments (n = 1653), including one pre-registered replication, we found that attending live theatre can improve empathy for groups depicted in the show, change attitudes about socio-political issues, and lead people to donate more to charities both related to and unrelated to the show.
