Abstract
Stories that challenge ethical norms produce controversy, however, no research has linked ethical identity with reading books. Through survey data, participants completed measures of 1) ethical ideology and 2) fiction/nonfiction story genre preferences. The relationship between ethical ideology and story genre preferences along with age are discussed.
