Abstract
Many models of addiction suggest that drug use is driven by automatic processes. Different implicit measures are used to capture automatic processes but have yielded conflicting results. We examine the validity of two implicit measures: the affect misattribution procedure and the relational responding task, in the context of smoking addiction.
