A Dual-Process Approach to Cooperative Decision Making Under Uncertainty

Abstract
Uncertainty has been shown to reduce the willingness to cooperate. We investigated the role of intuitive mental processing on cooperation in experimental games involving uncertainty. Results showed that participants tend to be more inclined to cooperate when forced to make their decisions quickly, rather than deliberately, even under uncertainty.
