18 Hours Sleep Deprivation Impairs Executive Functions and Increases Anxiety

Abstract
Research aimed to investigate the effects of 18 hours sleep deprivation on executive performance and psychological functions. 156 participants were assessed using Color Trails Test (CTT) and Spielberg State Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI). Results revealed significant increase in CTT reaction times and in sate anxiety after 18 hours sleep deprivation.
