Universities spend time and resources providing students with effective mentorship, assuming those relationships will have positive outcomes. Oneway ANOVAs cast doubt on this characterization of mentoring as beneficial, at least in terms of self-efficacy, empathy, and responsibility (all ps > .05), indicating no difference between participants with and without mentors.
