Abstract

Campaigns to prevent school shootings ask students to report concerning behavior, but this requires an understanding of school shooter identifiers. Government research has revealed identifying patterns but no research has established if these align with lay persons’ perceptions. Here, perceptions of school shooters were examined and compared to empirically-supported data.
