Abstract
The current research explored whether the relationships of physically dissimilar (or “mismatched”) couples are perceived to be based something other than romantic love (e.g., monetary, social, sexual, or psychological gains). Our hypothesis, that mismatched couples are perceived as being more transactional (less based on love) than matched couples, was supported.
