Associations between Psychotic Symptoms and Premature Termination in Depressed Patients in an Intensive Psychotherapy Program

Psychotherapy is being increasingly utilized as adjunctive therapy for psychotic symptoms, however, premature termination of psychotherapy remains a barrier to effective psychotherapy. Rates of premature termination were assessed in depressed patients with and without psychotic symptoms. Those with psychotic symptoms were observed to have significantly higher levels of premature termination.
